His rich characterizations went beyond his main characters, all the way through to the ghosts. NO one is one dimensional in this story.

And what a moral message.

Thanks so much, Chris, for teaching me some wonderful trivia about one of my fave authors! I usually do around twenty drafts of each book, so hear hear on the rewrites.Michellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00834942000091277695noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7817438941023006688.post-61253037553995915752012-01-05T10:10:57.642-06:002012-01-05T10:10:57.642-06:00LOVED this post, Chris. Even though I edit as I work my way through the first draft, I always do several rewrites. Like you, I find that the students I talk to hate hearing this!Jennifer Archerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15620692454770703140noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7817438941023006688.post-53048509346241082112012-01-05T08:17:10.761-06:002012-01-05T08:17:10.761-06:00I absolutely LOVE a good ghost story, Chris. I have especially grown fond of the Patrick Stewart & animated Jim Carrey versions. AMAZING on a big screen.

I agree too that rewrites are a MUST. Learning to tighten the phrasing or finding a better way to describe a scene can make a book magic. I'm excited to see you reaching out to kids in schools too. You never know what budding genius is out there.

Thanks for the great post.Jordan Danehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03350761658156085280noreply@blogger.com
